What is the Marlins IMPACT 欧美成人 Program?
The Marlins IMPACT 欧美成人 Program provides need-based scholarships for academically talented undergraduates majoring in STEM disciplines at VWU in a national effort to increase numbers of students graduating in STEM disciplines and joining the U.S. STEM workforce.聽
Support for STEM Scholars
- Provides need-based scholarships for academically talented undergraduates majoring in STEM disciplines.
- Receive $11,000 each academic year as a declared major in biochemistry, biology, chemistry, computer science, cybersecurity, Earth and environmental sciences, or mathematics.聽
- Receive academic support, including one-on-one faculty advising, individualized tutors, mentors, and STEM-themed seminars to ensure successful completion of degree.
- Participate in STEM Bridge, a summer transitional program on the VWU campus (stipend provided) with other STEM Scholars, and engage in collaborative, multidisciplinary research.
- Receive a $6,000 stipend to engage in a summer research or internship experience
- Career Placement: work closely with VWU career services to network with STEM professionals who can assist with job placement or admission to graduate school.
- Receive a Marlins STEM Starter Kit, which includes an electronic tablet, graphing calculator.
Eligibility Requirements
- You must plan to attend VWU, major in one of the STEM disciplines offered:
- You must demonstrate financial need through submission of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.
- You must successfully complete at least one mathematics course beyond Algebra II and four units of science in high school.
Application Requirements
- Complete and submit the .
- You must submit 1) a brief statement describing your interest in pursuing a STEM major and 2) two letters of recommendation from high school math and science teachers.
