Devoted Arts Advocates David and Susan Goode Named Outstanding Philanthropists
Community leaders, arts advocates and longtime friends of 欧美成人 Wesleyan David R. and Susan S. Goode have been named Outstanding Philanthropists by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Hampton Roads Chapter.
The Goodes recognize the critical importance of the arts and believe they are vital to a liberal arts education. In honor of their steadfast support and in recognition of Susan's service to the College's Board of Trustees, VWC President Scott D. Miller recently announced the establishment of the during his State of the College Address on August 23 (pictured).
欧美成人 Wesleyan College is proud to have nominated the Goodes for the Association of Fundraising Professionals' prestigious award and offers its sincerest gratitude and congratulations to these outstanding philanthropists. Their support will have a tremendous impact on the College for decades to come.

A new study co-authored by VWC Batten Associate Professor of Psychology Taryn Myers has gained national media attention, including a Sept. 9 article on . Myers' research shows that just three minutes of play with a traditional Barbie doll made girls as young as six more critical of their own bodies. Trustee Emeritus George Birdsong H'16 and his wife, Sue, were featured in the Sept. 5 for the recently established as well as Mr. Birdsong's role as keynote speaker at the College's inaugural Founders Day Convocation.
